So this is a bit of an oddity - Music 2000, a music sequencing "game" for the PlayStation that came out in 1999 (maybe some of you remember this game?). It's wildly tedious and extremely limited (hence the unfinished nature of the track, ran out of RAM / sample slots), the perfect break from all the other "serious" things stacking up. Sometimes I forget that music can be just... FUN!

anyways, some simple-happy-cyberian-forest-dwelling melodies for your ears.

@joaomaiaesil the cheese smell is DANK! hah. Surprisingly can do some AM synthesis on quality samples like Danny going "oh yeah!"

What a little gem, thanks for sharing! Have you had a chance to check out Dreams for PS5? I know I haven't, but I follow one of the devs on Twitter (https://twitter.com/boggodan) and he's always posting mental videos of what looks to be Music 2k's great great grandchild.

@bogdanraczynski just checked it out on Youtube, looks like an oneiric sandbox of fun! speaking of sandboxes of fun, you ever mess around in SunVox? feel like u may be into the elasticity of that tracker environment.

@Onokio I had to look up oneiric, well played! I have seen SunVox but never used it. But in a similar vein, to my eyes at least, Bespoke looks really fun. Just lacking the time. Do you find there's a reason why you're more drawn to the livecode environments vs something more visual like SunVox/Bespoke/etc?

@bogdanraczynski

It's funny, I hop around a lot, been mostly using my Yamaha RS7000 than anything, the step sequencer in there is addicting, but with something like Tidal Cycles I can get more complex/abstract rhythmic results at a drastically faster rate (once I grasped the language, tho i'm still learning lots) and I very much enjoy the mystery sometimes of having the code surprise me/listening and waiting to hear the patterns, very meditative now that i think about it. SunVox was my first experience with a tracker, very much enjoy the hypnotic work flow/different way of visualizing notes.

now I'm curious as to what makes you gravitate towards trackers? what trackers have u used in the past? (MUSIC 3000 FOR THE PS2 PERHAPS?! lol. )

[just learned that word "oneiric" in this book Cyberia by Douglas Rushkoff last week, dreams seem to pop up in conversations lots so it has come in handy lately]
